Wildlife and wild places in the UK are being destroyed at breakneck speed. Around two-fifths of species have declined in recent decades.
This Government or any future party in power needs to address this through the National Nature Service - a programme to create thousands of well-paid, nature-based roles across the UK.
The roles would be particularly geared towards young, unemployed and marginalised people - training them up to protect rural and coastal communities, as well as creating green spaces in deprived, urban communities.
