Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves are preparing us for a ‘painful’ Budget full of 'tough choices' this October. They claim to have found an unknown £22 billion 'black hole' in our public finances.

There is no doubt the last 14 years of Tory governments have left us in a bad state - but further cuts to our already crumbling public services is not the answer.

The solution is simple - and it's staring us right in the face.

The richest in our society are racking up record fortunes whilst ordinary people struggle to get to the end of the month. Even a moderate tax on the super-rich - those with over £10 million in assets - could raise up to £24 billion a year.

If Labour want to deliver real change, taxing the super-rich to invest in making life better for all of us is the first step.
