PAY UP Day of Action: wrapped.
On Friday - the one year anniversary of Keir Starmer's government coming to power - young people across the country got out on to the streets to demand this government make the super-rich PAY UP. We took action in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Exeter, Liverpool, London (x5!), Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Stoke!
Across our towns and cities we set up protests outside the businesses, offices and properties of the super-rich to demand the government make them pay their fair share.
We targeted fossil fuel boss Jim Ratcliffe, Reform bankroller Nick Candy, bet365 owner Denise Coates, BrewDog’s self titled ‘punk’ founder James Watt and silver-spoon aristocrat the Duke of Westminster.
We're sick of being told there’s no money. No money for our schools, for our youth clubs, for climate action. That we have to make ‘tough choices’ by slashing vital support for disabled people, cutting green investment, or keeping children in poverty. All while UK billionaires add tens of millions to their wealth every single day.
And we’re not stopping there. We’ll keep the momentum up over the summer - so now is the perfect time to get stuck in.
The money we need to build a better future is there - but it’s being hoarded by the super rich. This government faces a clear choice: it’s us or the billionaires.
