We set up a youth club in billionaire Mayfair

🤑 🤑 BREAKING: We set up a youth club in billionaire Mayfair 🤑 🤑

This morning (16th May), as the Sunday Times Rich list was published, we set up a youth club outside the oldest, most exclusive, private members’ club in London. Clubs like this one - and the ultra-wealthy who frequent them and feature on the Rich List every year - are thriving. Meanwhile, two thirds of all youth clubs have been shut down in the last decade.

We’re saying enough is enough. It’s time for the richest to PAY UP. For good schools and hospitals. For affordable homes. For climate action.

So we’re launching a wave of action, setting up pickets outside of target locations connected to the super-rich to demand that they finally PAY UP. And we need you  🫵

Read our action guide to find out how to take action near you - and sign up to our launch call if you want help getting started.

The money for good schools, hospitals, affordable homes and climate action is there. But its being hoarded by the super-rich.

That’s why we took matters into our own hands and set up our own brand new youth club right here in the streets of Mayfair. Because we’re done waiting for our government to do the right thing. It’s time to force them to make the super rich PAY UP - for our communities and for our climate.

TWO-THIRDS of youth clubs have been shut down since 2010.

These spaces aren’t just nice-to-haves that can be cut whenever governments want to trim public spending - they’re a lifeline for young people across the country who need safe spaces to learn and socialise. Shutting them down has devastated communities.

Meanwhile, invite-only, all-male private members clubs like White’s are flourishing as their ultra-wealthy patrons get richer every year. The top 1% now own 70% of all the wealth in this country. Billionaire wealth in the UK increased by £150 billion between 2020 and 2022 alone - that’s almost the entire NHS budget, hoarded by a tiny few.

Our action today was just the start - we're kicking off a wave of action around the country, building up to a day of action on the 4th of July - one year on from Labour's election victory.
